Una Novela de un Amor Eterno
“So who is the lucky woman in your novela? Sounds like you have fallen in love again”.
There is no lucky woman...yet or maybe I lost my chance with her already”. Una Novela de un Amor Eterno is constant series of large scale paintings and internal writings that I created from a real life love story of star-crossed lovers, “a malign star”, between me and a lost love. It's a love story that I write and paint about that is inspired by our conversations of hope, inner truth, epiphanies, a longing for someone, taking walks, mistakes, forgiving, regret, realization, time, passion, lost love, new love, making love, and most important...eternal love. So...have I've fallen in love again? No. Do I still love her....yes.....and so it begins like this.
With quotes like “Lo siento...había mucho amor...y no pudo vivir”, “I have always loved you...even before we had our first kiss”, “Is it strange to miss you someone you only met once?”, “"Solo quiero que te das cuenta que llegue a quererte tanto para estar todo una vida junto a vos. Por un amor verdadero, se lucha para que exista y no siento esa lucha de tu parte" and "Quisiera que el tiempo se regresara al tiempo que te conocí...Quisiera que el tiempo se regresara al tiempo que nos besamos por primera vez....Quisiera bailar contigo lentamente una vez mas como esa noche en el bar…Quisiera que el tiempo se regresara al tiempo que me decías...ven a mi".
With the influence of a traditional Mexican novela, an ancestral touch of prominent American Pop Artist Roy Lichtenstein and my passion for painting and writing, I created a Visual Narrative series of paintings of my own personal love story where I incorporate actual quotes from “our” meetings. Some are full of an eternal love, some illustrate hope, and some are filled of a love that could not exist.
I am a firm believer of love...being in love...and finding an eternal love. I am also a believer in losing a love, getting your heart broken, falling down and getting back up. Maybe there is a true love, maybe not. If all else fails, keep the memories deep in your heart and start again whenever necessary.

Started when I was a artist-in-residence at the Arts Students League of New York. I worked profusely painting and living for 6 weeks in NYC in 2012. To this date, La Novela has been exhibited in New York, California, Texas, and Mexico City...y sigue la novela.
